“The beneficiaries of the humanitarian assistance are the health workers and the society affected by the Israeli attack at Gaza Strip,” said Aldi in an official statement received by Kompas.com, Tuesday (25/5/2021).
Aldi explained that the currently urgent things required by the society at Gaza Strip are the basic needs, such as foods, medicines, medical tools, camps, along with water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH).
The Israeli and Hamas has announced a ceasefire on Friday (21/5/2021).
Previously, the Israeli and Hamas launched attacks for 11 days and destroyed nearly 17,000 residential and business buildings, 53 schools, 6 hospitals, 4 mosques, and 50% of Gaza’s water infrastructures.
Based on the United Nations (UN) report through the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UNOCHA), the attacks also left 800,000 people without access to clean water.
Therefore, HI encourages the Indonesian people to take part in helping the Palestinians, health workers, and vulnerable groups such as the elderly, pregnant mothers, children, and disabled people.
