KUALA LUMPUR, KOMPAS.com - Low-cost carrier, AirAsia, will commence four times weekly service from Surabaya to Bangkok and Surabaya to Penang on Nov 7 and Nov 13, respectively. To mark flights on the new routes, AirAsia is offering special fares, starting from as low as IDR150,000 (RM55) for Surabaya-Bangkok and IDR100,000 (RM37) for Surabaya-Penang.
In a statement today, AirAsia said the booking period for these destinations starts from Wednesday till Oct 3 for travel period from Nov 7 to Aug 11, 2011 Surabaya-Bangkok) and for travel period from Nov 13 to Aug 11, 2011 (Surabaya-Penang). "Our new routes to Bangkok and Penang will be great additions to Indonesia AirAsia’s portfolio of international routes and will further strengthen the airline’s position as an Asean airline that connects Asia and beyond," said Indonesia AirAsia President Director Dharmadi. Due to popular demand, AirAsia will also increase its flight frequency for Kuala Lumpur-Surabaya route from four times to five times daily. To further woo travellers, a special fare for the existing route is made available starting from RM79 (IDR 150,000) for booking period from Wednesday to Oct 3 for travel period from Nov 13 to August 2011.
