Human Initiative with Give2Asia Distributes PPE and Provides Education to the Public as Corona Virus Prevention

KOMPAS.com – Human Initiative and Give2Asia initiated a program to distribute personal protective equipment (PPE) for health workers and educational services to the public to aid those affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Aside from personal protective equipment, this program also distributed a number of basic food packages, mask and hand sanitizer packages, portable hand washing sink facilities, and direct educational activities for the beneficiaries.

Program coordinator of the Human Initiative Amir Mutar said there were five areas targeted by this aid program, one of which included the distribution of 65 basic food packages for health workers at RSPI Prof. Dr. Sulianti Saroso.

"There are also 35 packages of basic food packages, 50 packages of hand sanitizers and masks, and 1 unit of hand washing facility which are distributed to the Istabuana Foundation (visually impaired) in Depok City, West Java," said Amir through an official release, Monday (5/10/2020).

Amir added that 1 unit of hand washing facility and 50 packages of hand sanitizers and masks were also distributed to Jalan Sirojul Munir, Kampung Bojongsari, RT 005/ W 002, Jatisari, Jatiasih District, Bekasi City.

Meanwhile, 35 packages of personal protective equipment and another unit of hand washing facilities were also distributed to the Karawaci Baru Community Health Center, Tangerang City.

"There is also one area in Eastern Indonesia that receives PPE, namely the RSI Faisal in Makassar," explained Amir.

For information, the distribution of aid packages has begun since Saturday (26/9/2020). The distribution process was carried out in several places and was attended by representatives of the beneficiaries.

This activity commenced with a symbolic handover process followed by direct distribution to the public to avoid crowds.

In addition to sending aid packages, there are educational activities to prevent Covid-19 for the beneficaries and the general public.

This Covid-19 educational material will be placed in strategic places, such as hospitals and other public facilities.

With the educational activities, Human Initiative and Give2Asia hope that the community can always maintain and comply with health protocols by wearing masks, maintaining distance, washing hands with soap, and not attending crowds.

"Hopefully this program can help prevent the spread of the corona virus in public and can help health workers who are fighting the pandemic. Keep up the spirit, hopefully corona will soon pass from our beloved motherland," said Amir.
